ABOUT EFE TECHNOLOGY
THE SMART ELECTRICALLY DRIVEN VIBRATORY HAMMER
When vibratory driving was developed in the 1950’s, all vibro’s were electrically driven. But the high weight and the low controllability limited the performance of these machines, and soon hydraulic drive was introduced.
However, hydraulic drive systems have low efficiencies- especially under part load circumstances. This results in the need for large battery systems if a zero emission solution is required.
Therefore, EFE - part of electrification specialist Equip - has developed an electric drive system that combines the efficiency of electrical drive with the performance of hydraulic drive.
Our electrical drive system allows us to control every excenter individually. This means we can do away with the gears linking the excenters in hydraulic vibro’s. And moving on, we can even do away with the variable moment mechanism – we can control the variable moment from 0 to 100% electronically.
Benefits
THIS IS WHY WE CALL IT THE SMART ELECTRIC VIBRATORY HAMMER!
The vibro will be driven from an EPU – an enclosure containing the battery capacity required for a working day, frequency drives and charging components.
PROGRESS TO DATE
To test our drive system, we have converted an existing hammer to electrical drive. We have tested this during 2022 with good results. However, to fully enjoy the benefits of electrical drive we have designed the 25 eSYNC.
The 25 eSYNC will be introduced Q2, 2023
In the coming years, EFE will develop a range of electrically driven vibro’s in combination with associated EPU’s.
